What is included on Basic, Grow and Advanced
According to Shopify's announcement and the B2B help pages, every paid plan except Starter and Retail now has:
- Company profiles. A wholesale customer is a company with one or more locations and contacts, not a tagged consumer account. Each location can have its own payment terms, shipping address and tax settings.
- Catalogs with customer-specific pricing, up to three active catalogs across all your B2B markets. A catalog says which products a buyer can see and at what price: a percentage off retail, or fixed prices per variant.
- Volume pricing and quantity rules. Price breaks at quantity, minimums, maximums and increments per variant, inside the catalog.
- Payment terms. Net 7, 15, 30, 60, 90 or due on fulfilment, per company location, with invoices sent from Shopify.
- Vaulted credit cards. A buyer can store a card for repeat orders.
- B2B checkout and customer accounts. Buyers log in, see their prices, order on behalf of their company, and reorder.
- Draft orders, Flow, Markets and Shopify Payments all work for B2B orders, the same way they do for retail.
There is no extra fee. It is part of the plan you already pay for.
What stays Shopify Plus only
- Unlimited catalogs. Non-Plus plans stop at three.
- Direct catalog assignment to a company or location. On Basic, Grow and Advanced a catalog is attached to a B2B market, and companies are assigned to the market. On Plus you can hand a catalog to a single company.
- Deposits and partial payments at checkout.
- Everything that was Plus-only for other reasons stays so: checkout customisations beyond the standard ones, the higher API limits, and so on.
If your wholesale business is "one price list for all stockists" or "three tiers", the non-Plus version covers it. If it is "every account has its own negotiated prices", it does not, and you are choosing between Plus, a wholesale app, or running the exceptions as draft orders.
The 3-catalog limit, in practice
Three catalogs sounds like plenty until you map your business onto it. The three are shared across all B2B markets, so one market with three catalogs uses the whole allowance. Common ways brands fit inside it:
- Tiers, not accounts. Catalog A = standard stockists at 50% off retail. Catalog B = key accounts at 55%. Catalog C = distributors with fixed prices. Every company goes into one of the three.
- Prices in the catalog, availability by product. If some buyers must not see a product, hide it in the catalog rather than making a fourth catalog for them. A catalog can include or exclude products.
- Exceptions as draft orders. The one account with a special deal gets a draft order with the negotiated prices typed in. Clumsy, but it keeps the three catalogs clean.
- A separate B2B store if retail and wholesale are run by different people. Each store has its own three.
When you genuinely need more than three, the choice is Plus (unlimited, with direct assignment) or a wholesale pricing app that keeps its own price lists outside Shopify's B2B. The apps predate April 2026 and most of their comparison pages do too, so read them knowing that the native option now exists.
Setting up wholesale without Plus: the short version
- Customers → Companies → Add company. Name, main contact, location address, payment terms. One company can have several locations.
- Products → Catalogs → Create catalog. Choose the products (or all), set the price adjustment (percentage off or fixed prices), add quantity rules if you need minimums. Save.
- Settings → Markets. Create a B2B market, attach the catalog to it, and assign the companies to the market. This is the step that confuses most people, because on Plus you would skip it and assign the catalog to the company directly.
- Settings → Customer accounts. Make sure the new customer accounts are on, so buyers can log in and see their prices.
- Send the buyer an invitation from the company page. They log in, see their catalog, order.
Shopify's own help pages under "B2B" are current and worth reading in full; they were rewritten for the April change. Third-party guides older than that describe a different product.
The document buyers still need
Native B2B gives the buyer a login and a storefront with their prices. It does not give them the thing most wholesale buyers still ask for first: a PDF line sheet or price list they can forward, print and mark up at a trade show. Shopify has no export for that, and the B2B catalog does not print.
The fastest route is to keep the wholesale price where both can read it. Store it in a product metafield (for example custom.wholesale_price) or define it as a percentage, use that for the Shopify catalog, and use the same source for the PDF. That is how Sheetfolio reads it; the result is a line sheet with the same prices the buyer sees when they log in. Our guide on making a line sheet from Shopify covers the other options.
Not on Shopify yet? B2B on the Basic plan is the cheapest way to run a wholesale storefront with real company accounts and net terms. Shopify's trial lets you set up companies and catalogs before you pay.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Shopify Plus for B2B in 2026?
No. Since 2 April 2026 company profiles, up to three B2B catalogs with customer-specific pricing, volume pricing, quantity rules, payment terms and vaulted cards are included on Basic, Grow and Advanced at no extra cost. Plus still adds unlimited catalogs, direct assignment of a catalog to a company, deposits and partial payments.
How many B2B catalogs can I have without Plus?
Three active catalogs in total, shared across all your B2B markets. Most brands use them as price tiers: standard stockists, key accounts, distributors. Exceptions are handled as draft orders, or by hiding products within a catalog instead of creating a fourth one.
Does Shopify B2B give buyers a PDF price list?
No. A B2B catalog is a pricing rule that applies when a buyer logs in; it does not print. For a line sheet or price list PDF you export the data or use an app that reads the same wholesale price, for example from a product metafield.

Same Prices in the Catalog and on Paper
Sheetfolio reads the wholesale price from the metafield you feed your B2B catalog with, and prints the line sheet buyers ask for. Free plan, no card.
